About Pingsold

Pingsold is a startup directory that ranks startups by website traffic read directly from their own analytics (Google Analytics, Plausible, Fathom, PostHog or DataFast), connected read-only, never from screenshots, estimates or self-reported numbers.

Who runs Pingsold

Pingsold is built and run by WebVogue Technologies in India. For questions, corrections or a listing to remove, email support@pingsold.com or find us on X at @webvogueindia.

The first two listings, DropPerch and CiteGaps, are our own products: we used them to test verification end to end before opening the board. They're verified exactly like every other startup, and owning or paying for a listing never changes a rank.

How verification works

Founders connect Google Analytics (GA4), Plausible, Fathom, PostHog or DataFast with read-only access; Umami and Vercel Analytics are coming soon. Pingsold reads aggregate numbers only (visitor and pageview counts, hostnames and referrer domains), never data about individual visitors. Keys or tokens that can do more than read analytics are refused.

When a tool is connected, Pingsold checks that at least 80% of its tracked pageviews are on the listing's own domain, and checks again on every sync. After 3 failed checks in a row the listing loses its verified status until the founder connects the analytics for that domain.

Traffic is synced from the analytics tool once a day and the leaderboards are recomputed daily. Nobody types in their own numbers.

How the ranking works

  • Top traffic: ranked by verified visitors over the last 30 days.
  • Fastest growing: ranked by the month-over-month change in 30-day visitors, for startups with at least 500 visitors a month earlier and 1,000 now.
  • Domain Rating: every live listing, with or without analytics, ranked by its Ahrefs Domain Rating (how well other sites link to it, 0 to 100), fetched once a month. It's Ahrefs' number, not one we verify, and it is always shown as "Domain Rating by Ahrefs".
  • Every category has the same three boards.

Only live listings with an active, verified analytics connection that synced recently are ranked on the traffic boards. Ties go to the startup with more visitors, then to the one published first.

Payment never buys rank: Featured listings and sponsors appear in their own labelled areas, never inside the rankings.

How metrics differ

Each tool counts "visitors" its own way, so numbers from different tools aren't exactly comparable:

  • Google Analytics: active users.
  • Plausible: unique visitors (cookieless; someone returning on another day may count again).
  • Fathom: unique visitors ("Uniques", cookieless).
  • PostHog: unique persons with a pageview (identified users are counted once across devices).
  • DataFast: unique visitors.

Every stat shows which tool it came from ("Verified via Plausible").

Frequently asked questions

How do I verify my startup's traffic on Pingsold?

Submit your startup (free), then connect its analytics from your Pingsold dashboard: Google Analytics (GA4), Plausible, Fathom, PostHog or DataFast. Google Analytics connects with your Google account or by adding our service account as a Viewer; the other tools use a read-only API key or token. You can connect while the listing is still in review. Once at least 80% of the tracked pageviews are on your listed domain, the first sync stores your verified visitor count, and the startup is ranked once its listing is live.

Is connecting my analytics to Pingsold read-only and safe?

Yes. Pingsold only asks for read-only access and refuses keys or tokens that can do more than read analytics. It reads aggregate numbers only (visitor and pageview counts, hostnames and referrer domains), never data about individual visitors. Stored credentials are encrypted, and disconnecting deletes them immediately (a Google connection is also revoked at Google).

Which analytics tools does Pingsold support?

Google Analytics (GA4), Plausible, Fathom, PostHog or DataFast. Umami and Vercel Analytics are coming soon.

How is the Pingsold ranking calculated?

The top traffic board ranks startups by verified visitors over the last 30 days. The fastest growing board ranks them by the month-over-month change in 30-day visitors, for startups with at least 500 visitors a month earlier and 1,000 now. Only live listings with an active, verified connection that synced recently are ranked on those two. A third board ranks every live listing by its Ahrefs Domain Rating, fetched monthly: Ahrefs' number, not verified by us. Every category has all three boards, and payment never changes a rank.

How often is traffic updated?

Once a day: each connected analytics tool is synced daily and the leaderboards are recomputed daily. Domain Ratings are fetched once a month. Public pages refresh at least hourly.

How much does Pingsold cost?

Listing is free (the free queue publishes up to 10 startups a day, and listings with the Pingsold badge on their homepage go ahead of those without). An Instant listing costs $29 one-time: the listing skips the queue, is reviewed within 24 hours and gets a guaranteed dofollow link, and the payment is refunded if it can't be approved. A Featured listing costs $79 one-time for 7 days pinned at the top of the New board and its category pages and in the home page's Featured strip (6 at a time). Sponsor slots (10 in total) start at $99/month; the price rises $25 with each new sponsor and is locked for 6 months. None of these change a startup's rank.

What is the Founding startup badge?

The first 25 verified startups Pingsold picks get a permanent Founding startup badge and one free Featured week. The badge is for display only and never affects ranking.

Can traffic on Pingsold be faked?

Founders can't type in or edit their numbers: every count is read from the connected analytics tool. At least 80% of the tracked pageviews must be on the listed domain, checked on every sync; after 3 failed checks in a row the startup loses its verified status. Pingsold shows what the analytics tool reports, so it is only as accurate as that tool's own counting, and admins can exclude a startup from the rankings.

How do I remove my listing from Pingsold?

Open the listing in your dashboard, go to Settings and choose Delete listing: the listing, its traffic and rank history, its badge and its analytics connection (including stored credentials) are deleted instantly. To keep the listing but stop sharing traffic, disconnect the analytics from the same page.

What does a verified listing get?

A public profile with its verified 30-day visitors, a 12-month traffic chart, its top traffic sources and its positions on the overall and category leaderboards (the founder can hide the sources, or show visitor counts as ranges), plus a followed (dofollow) link to its site.
